The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan has announced job positions through a job advertisement published in daily Jang dated 14 May 2023. The vacancies available are for the positions of Hamid D Habib Chair.
Bank Al Habib Ltd (BAHL) has created the endowed Hamid D. Habib Chair at the IBA to enhance the quality of teaching and research-related activities in financial services. In order to accomplish this, IBA is seeking the ideal candidate who preferably possesses international recognition and expertise, and has shown excellence in the core areas of Finance, as well as innovations in Finance that represent the current landscape in financial services.
The job requires the candidate to have a solid academic and research background, and strong connections with the financial services industry and market.
Job description
- Leading the development of courses in financial services and implementing innovative and contemporary teaching methods.
- Conducting nationally and internationally recognized research, with a particular focus on the Pakistani financial service industry and markets.
- Providing research-led teaching to ensure students and faculty stay current with trends in the local industry.
- Collaborating with industry practitioners and alumni to identify indigenous problems and design relevant curricula.
- Mentoring other academic team members and contributing to the overall leadership of the Endowment Fund for effective industry engagement.
- Coordinating with the donor organization to identify opportunities for fund allocation in conjunction with IBA faculty and students.
Job Specification
- Hold a PhD or a terminal doctorate degree from a globally renowned university.
- Possess outstanding academic accomplishments, evidenced by internationally recognized publications.
- Demonstrate a history of collaborative research and effective supervision.
Competencies
- Proficient in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Capable of creating and utilizing innovative pedagogical methods and designing curriculum.
- Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Possesses excellent oral and written English proficiency.
