Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore Punjab Pakistan, published a job advertisement in the Daily Express Newspaper on approximately 20th May 2023, inviting applications for the available positions of TBM Expert and Geotechnical Expert in Lahore.

WASA Lahore, the second-largest water utility in Pakistan, holds responsibility for managing water supply, sewerage, and drainage systems in the bustling city of Lahore. Currently, WASA Lahore is seeking applications from interested candidates for contractual positions lasting 36 months under the Project Management Unit (PMU). The recruitment is part of the Lahore Water and Wastewater Management Project, specifically the “Sewerage System from LARECH Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi (through Trenchless Technology)” project, which will be funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AllB). This ambitious endeavor will be implemented in the EPC Mode, involving the installation of approximately 20 kilometers of trunk sewer using MTBM (Micro Tunnel Boring Machine) technology. The pipes used for this project will range from 1500mm to 3500mm in diameter, considering the soft soil conditions in the area.

Minimum Qualification & Experience

Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering, preferably supplemented with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geotechnical Engineering, from a recognized university by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in micro-tunneling/tunneling is required. Candidates with experience specifically related to geotechnical investigations for laying sewers through micro-tunneling/tunneling in large-scale projects, particularly in metropolitan areas, will be given high preference.

5. Degrees/qualifications must be recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for the selected candidates.
6. No traveling allowance or daily allowance will be provided for the interview.
7. The selected candidate will be required to render services in Lahore, Pakistan, for the duration of the project.
8. The date, time, and venue of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates who rank highest.
9. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.
10. WASA Lahore reserves the right to halt the recruitment process at any stage.
11. The age of the candidates will be calculated based on the closing date set for the receipt of applications.
